Plaque Amulet

Glazed steatite plaque amulet. One one side is Isis suckles Horus in the marshes; a decorative motif commonly found on amulets made in the Third Intermediate Period. On the reverse is Bes with two cartouches containing the throne name (Menkheperra) of Piy first ruler of the 25th Dynasty (747 - 716 BC).
