Plaque (Forgery)

Forgery of an ancient Egyptian antiquity acquired by Sir Henry Wellcome from Robert de Rustafjaell. Paper label with serrated edge with the number "11", like others from the de Rustafjaell collection. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Loss of pigment, surface dirt, label adhered to surface, chipped. Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 19 – 21 December 1906 (de Rustafjaell sale).
