Plaque (Forgery)

Forgery of an ancient Egyptian antiquity acquired by Sir Henry Wellcome before 1936. Dark coloured stone plaque incised with hieroglyphs and cuneiform characters. Auction label stuck to the surface with printed number "Lot 279". Trace of another number on the label, perhaps 14892. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Chipped, surface dirt, label adhered to surface.
