Information

Green glazed steatite rectangular plaque seal. One side is inscribed with the cartouche of Thutmose III (Menkeheperra) flanked by two Maat feathers, above a 'gold' sign. The other side is inscribed with a figure seated on a chair, holding a scepter, and decorated with two nefer signs and a Maat feather. Pierced through the length for suspension. Glaze worn off in places. Label says "is this 1979.630.1 forgery?". Record card for 1979.630.1 says "Egyptian scarab, rectangular, pierced through length, turquoise glaze over? bone. 'from the tomb of Tutankamen's sister' see letter in history file".
