Presumed portrait of Prince Michael Casimir Radziwill

Recent research suggests that the man in this painting is Prince Michał Kazimierz Radziwiłł, a Polish – Lithuanian nobleman. His status is represented in his elaborate, gilded armour and fine dress. The green fabric draped behind him adds to the sense of grandeur, and was a common feature in portraits at the time.
