WAG 1658

Information

This watercolour painting depicts the designs for a male figure from the play 'Queen Victoria'. An inscription to the right of the figure identifies them as 'Albert 1861'. The figure has grey head and facial hair, uncluding a beard and moustache. They are standing with one haind raised and opening something which is placed on a surface, possibly a book. They are wearing blue/grey verticle pinstripe trousers, a white shirt, a black waistcoat, a black unbuttoned tailcoat and a black necktie. There appears to be a chain hanging from a pocket on the waitcoat, possibly from a pocketwatch.
