The Princess Royal, Princess Mary Countess of Harewood

Princess Mary was the only daughter of KIng George V. This portrait was commissioned so that it could be sold in aid of the Queen's Work for Women Fund. Lever bought it from the artist shortly after it was completed. The portrait was praised highly at the time, with one critic describing it as 'one of the few really attractive portraits of royalty'.
