Procession of pilgrims

WAG 1995.212

Information

A pen and brown ink and wash drawing showing the image of a procession of pilgrims. The right half is filled with a large crowd of pilgrims, some carrying a cross and wearing a hat, attired in ecclesiastical robes. This group of people is headed by two men carrying a lantern and a torch, and a semi-nude male figure. They are on the path to a walled city now identified as Bolignia, a distant view of which is in top left corner.
