Information

As Liverpool’s first official Pride was being prepared for 2010, a consortium of Liverpool’s LGBT Christian groups discussed running an interfaith LGBT fringe event. Inspiration had been drawn from the annual Eucharist celebration held by Manchester Gay Christian Group preceding each Manchester Pride. Whilst these discussions were taking place, Liverpool Pride began to search for partners willing to facilitate an interfaith service To enable the festival to be as inclusive as possible and for LGBT people of all faiths and none. The steering group which was formed to co-ordinate and organise the interfaith event became known as the Spectrum of Spirituality, taking their inspiration from the rainbow symbol. The first interfaith event based around a Pride was held in 2010 at the Quaker Meeting House in Liverpool city centre with 93 attendees. Following on from this success, a Spectrum of Spirituality event took place yearly until 2016. The event remains the only one of its kind in the UK.
