MOL.2010.8.3
Information
In 2009 Homotopia ran from 1-30 November and included over 30 different events across Liverpool. The festival included an event called, ‘Memories of Yankel Feather’ which focused on the gay Liverpool-born artist who had died earlier in the year.
2009 was also the first year that Homotopia began to work internationally, developing new partnerships with Project Triangle, an arts and social justice initiative which followed 12 young people from Merseyside visiting Warsaw and Auschwitz extermination camp.
2009 also saw the premier of, ‘The Silent Death of Michael’, a short film exploring the media silence surrounding the homophobic murder of Michael Causer in 2009.
