The second official Pride event in Liverpool took place on 6 August 2011. The theme, 'Summer of Love' aimed to bring people together in the spirit of unity and togetherness, promoting understanding and tolerance.
Liverpool’s Pier Head was closed for the day on 6 August in order to host a Pride street party consisting of stages, over 50 stalls, street performers and food and drink. In the gay quarter there was another stage on Stanley Street as well as a health and wellbeing area offering massages and health checks.
The Pride event was attended by over 40,000 people in total, cementing Liverpool Pride’s place on the city’s cultural diary.
