Psyche

Psyche was the youngest daughter of an unknown king. She fell in love with Cupid, the son of the goddess, Venus. Lever asked the artist to make this work in 1918 and it was finally delivered two years later. Lever probably commissioned it for display in the sculpture gallery at the Lady Lever Art Gallery.
