Pyxis

Circular box (sometimes known as a pyxis) on tripod feet, the rim is everted. The lid has a knob handle, "battlement" or maender decoration and concentric bands on exterior in dark brown glaze. The decoration on the main body is also in brown-black concentric bands and one band filled with parallel vertical lines. The centre of the interior is oulined in a dark brown circle and there is a circular band all along the base and the interior edges of the rim. The clay is pink buff.
