Relief Fragment

Fragment of limestone with sunk relief hieroglyphic inscription. Only a basket sign (Gardiner's V30) is fully preserved. Below this is the top of a chisel (?) sign (Gardiner's U23). Aylward Blackman was Brunner Professor of Egyptology at the University of Liverpool between 1948 and 1956. Between 1912 and 1920 he spent five fieldwork seasons at Meir, recording the rock-cut tombs in this part of Middle Egypt, from where this object was collected.
