Religious Figure / Ajita

A stout wooden figure of Ajita, Tib: Neten Mapampa (gnas brtan ma pham pa), one of the 16 arhats or Buddhist Elders. He sits in a meditative pose, dressed in long flowing robes, with his head covered with a shawl that falls down his back. He has long bushy eyebrows, and a long moustache and beard. His hands rest in his lap in meditation, encircling his hands are two gold coloured silk yarns that have been sealed with wax. A double dorje is carved into the base.
