Religious Figure / Buddha

A clay and lacquer statue of a Buddha. The Buddha sits in vajra posture, his right hand points downwards in the Varada Mudra (gift giving), and holds the end of a lotus stem that is now lost. The right hand rests on the lap. The figure has been covered in a layer of lacquered gold and a varnish that has turned the robe and lotus pedestal a copper colour.
