Sino-Tibetan statue of Mahakala or Mgonpo nagpo chenpo who is the wrathful form of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. He is represented in his six-armed protector form overcoming the enemies of Buddhism (represented in the form of the Hindu God Ganesha who lies beneath Mahakala, with an extended arm that holds a bowl) . He holds objects in his hands (which include, a curved knife, a skull bowl, a drum, a moneybag, a ring of skulls) which help him achieve his protector role.
