Information
Ceramic bowl, retrieved from the site of the atomic bomb blast in Hiroshima, Japan in August 1945. Over 150,000 people died as a result of the a-bomb detonated above the Japanese city. This fragile object was collected from the ruins of Hiroshima after the blast, the most powerful ever unleashed at the time. The white heat of the explosion melted the ceramic glaze and fused with debris thrown up by the explosion.
