Ritual vessel or bum pa

A vessel for water used during religious ceremonies or rituals. The copper ewer is pear shaped with gilt brass mounts. On either side are two plaques of gilt brass, one featuring an ape on an elephant and one shows a holy man under a tree with deer and cranes. The ewer has a plain spout, handle and lid.
