Information

John A.A. Berrie studied at Liverpool's Bootle Art School, in Paris and at Herkomer's School in London under Marmaduke Flower. He mainly painted portraits, notably those of Winston Churchill, Edward VIII and George V. He moved from London to Liverpool, and then to Harrogate, before emigrating to Johannesburg in South Africa. This painting is part of the Liverpool Academy Album Presented to Alderman John Lea.
