Roman Landscape

Probably an 18th or early 19th century drawing, the artist of this work is unidentified. Many British artists of the period were influenced by the dramatic, carefully composed, Classical landscapes of Claude Lorrain (1600 - 1682). The subject matter, sweeping curves and craggy hills reflect this influence.
