Rotary Quern

Upper mobile stone (handstone) of a rotary quern used for hand-grinding a wide variety of materials, including grain. The central hole (the hopper) has a diameter of 42 mm. There are three smaller handle slots cut near the outer edge that enabled the handstone to be rotated. Thought by the donor to be from Egypt but this provenance has not been investigated.
