Sarah complaining to Abraham about Hagar

Information

This drawing is a weak copy after a drawing in Musée Bonnat-Helleu in Bayonne in France, collection of Léon Bonnat, which Benesch attributed to Rembrandt, dating it to 1643-44 [O. Benesch, "Drawings of Rembrandt," London 1973, III, no. 549, fig. 680]. It is almost an exact replica, differing only in landscape background -- a little more detail on the hill in the far distance. Sarah's figure also appears older in the Bonnat drawing with her head veil almost obscuring her face, while Hagar appears young with a blemish-free face
