Oval sarcophagus, of the type sometimes called a 'lenos' or 'bathtub' sarcophagus, made from marble from Luna (central Italy). It is probably a child's sarcophagus. The field is divided into five by six columns. The central doorway is decorated with lion heads. In both of the flanking compartments are men wearing masks (presumably actors) pointing towards the door, and in the next two, female flute layers. Lid: imbricated (overlapping scales) roof, with masks as finials at the front.
