Scarab

1977.109.11

Information

Dark green scarab seal with details of the head, wings and legs on the back, and flat base inscribed with the name of Thutmose III (Menkheperra). Pierced through the length for suspension. Marked with number 831 on the back. For tomb 831 A'09, a shaft tomb with five chambers, the excavator recorded a "scarab of porcelain" along with a rough sketch in the field notebook that seems to match with the Menkheperra inscription on this scarab. However, it has also been noted it is from 836 A'09.
