Information

Steatite scarab with details of the head and legs on the back, and flat base inscribed with a representation of a Ramesside king standing in adoration before the god Seth who is holding a sceptre (possibly a was-sceptre). Pierced through the length for suspension. Glaze now worn away. Badly chipped on the back and a little on the base. Record card says "Ex. Lord Amherst Collection. Given: Miss F. Lawrence I.O.M." and dates the object to ca. 1500 BC.
