Scarab shaped seal with decorated underside witht the image of Thoth as a baboon and a hes-vase ('praised by Thoth"). Steatite with a blue-green glaze. Good technique. top of the head is chipped. Prof. Percy Newberry dated it to the 18th Dynasty. Mounted on a modern plain yellow metal ring. Dimensions with modern ring setting = 23 x 20 x 5 mm
