Scarab

Steatite scarab shaped seal with details of the head, wings and legs on the back, and flat base inscribed with the name of Amun and a wedjat eye. Pierced through the length for suspension. Previously in the collection of Mr Frank Stevens, and described by his as coming from Cyprus. He had shown the scarab to Professor Archibald Sayce (1845 – 1933) who dated it to 1300 BC.
