Scarab

Steatite scarab seal with details of the head, wings and legs crudely carved on the back, and flat base crudely inscribed with a human figure and an animal (a quadruped). Pierced through the length for suspension. Chipped on one end and base. The catalogue card says "Ex. Hilton Price Coll. Given Miss F. Lawrence I.O.M.". Ex Frederick George Hilton Price collection, sold at Sotheby's, London, 12-17 July 1911.
