Scarab Seal

Green glazed steatite scarab seal with details of the head, wings and legs on the back, and flat base inscribed with 'Hm-nTr Dhty', "the god's servant, Djehuty". Pierced through the length for suspension. From Esna grave 245 E'06 (there is a sketch on the excavation record slip). Recorded in the 1906 accession register as "scarab - The Priest of Tahuti. Esna. XVIII dynasty." CONDITION NOTE (1998): Surface dirt, worn.
