Scarab Seal Finger Ring

Glazed steatite scarab ring the base of which bears the head of Hathor, uraei and the cartouche of Thutmosis III. Its back is composed of gold cloisons inlaid with stone. Set in a gold mount ornamented with twisted gold wire on its perimeter, the scarab has a midsection of green jasper and wing cases inlaid with red jasper. Found with several pairs of earrings, finger rings, amulets, beads, and a large group of vessels in an undisturbed vaulted-chamber of a mid-Eighteenth Dynasty tomb containing eight burials (chamber 941 in Tomb Group 941-949 A’09).
