WAG 1158
Information
John McGahey was a local artist who studied at the Liverpool Academy School. School Lane is in the centre of Liverpool. Today it joins the central shopping area on Church Street to Hanover Street, running past the Bluecoat gallery. St Peter's Church was the parish church in Liverpool and served as the Anglican cathedral before the present cathedral was built. It stood on Church Street from 1700 until it was demolished in 1922.
This view is taken looking west down School Lane towards Church Street, with the churchyard entrance on the right and the Bluecoat out of view on the left.
