Scraper

Long oval scraper, triangular section, one end steep flaked. Brown patina with a patch of thick crust - perhaps organic matter (?) or cortex stuck to one side and flaking off. Marked in pencil twice '24'. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Large area of concretions, surface dirt, surface flaking. Excavated by Professor Flinders Petrie at the ancient town of Lahun, which flourished in the 19th and 18th centuries BC, around the pyramid complex of King Senusret II.
