Sculpture of a Man

Statuette of a man wearing a full wrapover kilt. Forged (?) inscription on back pillar. Sold at Sotheby's 1906, 19-21 Dec Lot 217/2: A small statuette of a seated priest, in black stone; inscribed with name of "pedu-khonsu; priest of knonsu (finely carved, but broken); and a standing female figure, with long inscription at the back. Illustrated in the 1906 sale catalogue of the Robert de Rustafjaell collection, sold at Sotheby's 1906, 19-21 December, pl. XV.10. Previously described as female on catalogue card in 1973.
