Seaford, Christmas Morning

The yellow sky and the pale orange on the horizon show us that the time is sunrise on Christmas Day. Smoke rises from the first fires of the day. Seaford is a small town in East Sussex, close to dramatic white cliffs. Short made several pastel sketches and watercolours of the beach, the cliffs and the surrounding area.
