Fragment of a clay sealing, the smooth side bears trace of a seal impression of an elephant holding a branch with its trunk. Marked on the back with the collector's number GN 113. From site no. 289 near the Amun Temple. Exhibited at Musée du Louvre (Paris) 2010 exhibiton 'Méroé: Un empire sur le Nil' , the first exhibition devoted exclusively to Meroe, a kingdom of the ancient Sudan known for its legendary capital and the pyramids of its famous necropolis. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, worn, surface dirt.
