On display

Granodiorite sculpture of the goddess Sekhmet, seated surmounted by a sun disc. The statue was broken apart during the 1941 May blitz and was repaired in 1995. Originally she clasped the symbol of life (the ankh) in her left hand, now both arms below the elbow are missing. On the left hand side of the plinth at the back of the statue the name BELZONI, in capital letters, is clearly carved. This is the smaller statue of the pair. The statue has been fixed on a black limestone base. Display dimensions on plinth = Height 215 cm x Width 67 cm x Depth 104 cm
