Shabti

44.19.135a

Information

Blue glazed faience mummiform shabti wearing a plain tripartite wig with extremely narrow front lappets. The hands meet above the waist, and the right hand holds a hoe modelled in relief. The face is large and oval in shape, but the details are only summarily modelled. The large head in relation to the body is distinctive and there are parallel shabtis in the Petrie Museum of Archaeology, London (no. UC 39983) and Warrington Museum and Art Gallery (nos. 1895.107.1744 and 1895.107.1746).
