Shabti

44.19.197

Information

Mummiform shabti of cream coloured glazed faience with brown details. Wearing a plain tripartite wig, with the arms are folded above the waist. There is no evidence of implements or a basket being carried. The face is poorly defined. A vertical column of hieroglyphs in brown on the front is difficult to decipher with any certainty. One of the previous owners, Amy Urlin, assisted W. M. F. Petrie on his excavation of the cemetery at Abydos in 1901 and this shabti may have been aquired at this time.
