Lower part of a wooden shabti with faint traces of painted details and inscription. Head, shoulders and front of feet missing. Marked in pencil MEIR. Aylward Blackman was Brunner Professor of Egyptology at the University of Liverpool between 1948 and 1956. Between 1912 and 1920 he spent five fieldwork seasons at Meir, recording the rock-cut tombs in this part of Middle Egypt, from where this object was collected.
