Shabti Coffin

Pottery shabti coffin box with lid. Columns of text painted in black on the lid, reading right to left but now very faint.. Typical in style with those produced in the Second Intermediate Period and early New Kingdom. The lid is broken in two and mended. Acquired in 1967 from antiquities dealer Johan Möger, with the provenance "Gurnah/Naqada". CONDITION NOTE (1998): Previous repair, chipped, white residue, discoloured, adhesive on surface, surface loss, surface dirt.
