Shabti of Amen–em–ipet–nakht

1961.202.138

Information

Mummiform shabti wearing a plain tripartite wig paintedblack. The rear lappet is not shown because the shabti appears to be lying on an integrated base that envelops the back of the figure. This is painted white, the same colour being used for the body of the shabti, except for exposed areas of flesh, namely the face, neck and hands that are reddish–painted brown. The arms are crossed above the waist, and small hands emerge from a shroud to hold a pair of hoes that are added in red paint. The hands are outlined in black. The face is simply modelled. Eyes with brow are added in black and white. The front of the shabti has a vertical of inscription that is added in black on a yellow ground within a red frame. The inscription is rather damaged, but the owner is perhaps named as Amen–em–ipet–nakht. Transliteration and translation of the inscription: Wsir Imn-m-ipt-nxt, "The Osiris, Amen–em–ipet–nakht".
