Information
A worker type shabti of green glazed faience inscribed for Horpeniset. The shabti wears a plain tripartite wig and the hands meet above the waist, holding a pair of hoes added in black paint. A vertical column of hieroglyphs on the front reads “The Osiris, HorpenIset”. A simply outlined basket is added in black on the back of the shabti.
From the 1900 excavations of the Egyptian Research Account at Abydos, Cemetery E, tomb 269. One of six shabtis from the burial of Horpeniset in the collection of World Museum.
CONDITION NOTE 1998: Cracked surface, chipped, concretions, pitted, surface dirt.
