Shabti of Iset

53.99.10

Information

The upper part of a mummiform shabti wearing a plain tripartite wig with a seshed headband tied at the back added in black. The arms are crossed right over left on the chest, and the hands hold a pair of small hoes added in black paint. A vertically hatched rectangular basket with two shoulder straps is carried on the back. The face is rudimentarily modelled, and has eyes with brows added in black. By comparing this fragment with parallel shabtis of similar iconography it is without doubt it is for a Chantress of Amun called Iset.
