Shabti of Nes-ta-nedjem

Mummiform shabti mould made from pottery with a creamy/white wash and details added in black. The shabti wears a plain tripartite wig with a seshed headband tied at the back added in black. The arms are crossed on the chest, and the hands hold a pair of hoes added in black. A small rectangular basket with cross–hatched detail and shoulder straps is painted on the back. The face is poorly defined in the modelling. Eyes with brows are added in black. A vertical column of hieroglphs on the front of the shabti reads, “The Osiris, Nes–ta–nedjem, justified.”
