Shabti of Nesytawsedjatre

Information

Mummiform shabti wearing a tripartite wig with striations and a seshed headband added in black. The arms are crossed right over left on the chest, and the hands hold a pair of hoes modelled in shallow relief and painted black. A square–hatched rectangular basket is painted on a slant behind the left shoulder. The face and the forehead are completely damaged. The front of the shabti has a vertical column of a painted inscription naming the owner as Nestawedjatre. The hieroglyphic inscription reads :’The Osiris, the Lady of the House, and Chantress of Amen, Nesytawsedjatre. Shabtis for this owner are sometimes recorded as being for Nesytamaatre as given in the ‘Table of private names’ compiled by Mace (Randall-MacIver and Mace, 1902, pl. LVII, no. 96). Third Intermediate Period: 22nd Dynasty. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Good/Fair. Large areas of surface loss, chipped surface, pitted, worn , surface dirt.
