Shabti of Pa-her-mer

Mummiform shabti wearing a tripartite wig with striations added in black. A pair of small breasts are indicated in the modelling below the lappets of the wig. The arms are crossed left over right on the chest, and the hands hold a pair of hoes added in black. A square–hatched small trapezoidal basket with loops in the uppermost corners is carried on the back. The face is well–formed, and has the eyes with brows added in black. A vertical column of inscription on the front of the shabti reads: “The Osiris, the Overseer of the Treasury, Pa–her–mer, justified". Transliteration of the inscription: sHD Wsir im.y-r pr-HD PA-Hr-mr mAa-xrw. Excavated by Arthur Cruttenden Mace during the 1899-1900 season at Abydos, Cemetery D, Tomb 14B. There are three other shabtis for this owner in our collection. Broken across the knees and mended.
