Shabti of Pa-nakht

Information

Mummiform shabti wearing a plain tripartite wig with a seshed headband tied at the back. The arms are crossed right over left on the chest, and the hands hold a small pair of hoes indicated in the modelling. The face is very crudely modelled with no real discernible features. The back of the figure is flat. A square–hatched basket with shoulder straps is rather crudely painted on the back in black. There are no traces of painted inscription but the overall shape and iconography of the figure indicate it belongs to a group of shabtis known to belong to Pa–nakht. From Abydos [North Cemeteries:Cemetery D, tomb 32] excavated by John Garstang for the Egyptian Research Account.
