Fragment from the lower part of a stone shabti of Padiamenipet. Four (surviving) horizontal bands of inscription which almost encircle the body, give the owner’s name and part of Chapter 6 of the Book of the Dead with a particular version foundon shabtis for Padiamuipet known as the Taharqa variant that used the summons ‘if one seeks’ (ir wxA.tw), and concludes with ‘I am you’ (ink ntk) (see Schneider, ‘Shabtis’ volume I, 1977, p. 118ff). Padiamenipet (also known as Pedamenope) was the owner of the largest tomb ever built for a private individual in Egypt (Theban Tomb TT33). He was a high ranking official who lived and worked at Thebes in Egypt’s 26th Dynasty. His most illustrious title is that of Chief Lector Priest. His other titles include Seal bearer and Sole Beloved Friend, Lector and Scribe of the Records in the Sight of the King.
