Information

Lancaster studied at the Southport School of Art and was a member of Royal Society of British Artists in 1914 and Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour in 1921. He mainly exhibited at the Liverpool Autumn Exhibitions, Walkers Gallery, London and Royal Society of British Artists. Shap is a village in Cumbria, strung along the A6 and the West Coast Main Line. Today, the M6 passes close by. The road and rail routes over Shap Fell are notorious for the steepness of the incline.
